Dr. Fakhoury's special interests lie in the areas of eye diseases, contact lens and low vision rehabilitation. After three years in a private Neuro-ophthalmology practice in Florida, Dr. Fakhoury has returned to his hometown of Chicago where he worked as a clinical instructor at the Illinois Eye Institute/Illinois College of Optometry before opening his private practice: Lakeside Eye Care!

Dr. Fakhoury has received various awards in the areas of eye diseases and contact lenses. He has collaborated with clinicians and researchers from Johns Hopkins University Wilmer Eye Institute, Illinois College of Optometry and the Chicago West Side and Hines VA Medical Centers to evaluate the long-term effects of low vision rehabilitation.

He received his Doctor of Optometry Degree in May 2001 from the University of Missouri and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then completed a residency program at the Chicago Veterans Administration Medical Center specializing in the areas of eye disease and low vision rehabilitation.
